Sport Business Summit 2022 (SPOBIS), Dusseldorf - relation from the event

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the SPORT BUSINESS SUMMIT Conference in Düsseldorf, W Germany. More than 4,000 people involved in sports (clubs, federations, sports industry solution providers) attended, advertised as the largest sports event of its kind in Europe definitely worth attending.

I wanted to share some post-conference thoughts and conclusions. I definitely recommend conferences as a place to network (48 conversations), exchange knowledge and experiences, and seek inspiration. I especially enjoyed the speeches of Mike Armstrong Chief Marketing Officer at Juventus Turin, who shared his experience of implementing Web 3 solutions at the club which convinced of the validity of the implemented solutions and their great success among fans. We managed to exchange a few words after the panel.

I also enjoyed the presentation by Anna Chanduci (Forbes 30 under 39, UK edition), Sports Metaverse Lead EMEA Facebook/Meta, who spoke about the new opportunities that metaverse solutions offer to clubs in building fan engagement and a new era for the sports world. My attention was also caught by the presentation of Fiona Morgan from Sail GP, who presented the #Impactleague project related to the responsibility of sports clubs in terms of sustainability and Carbon footprint, where in addition to a table of sports results of individual teams, we also have a table of socially responsible sports teams.

I definitely recommend this event. Two days of inspiring talks, discussions, international networking and exchange of experiences. I will be back :)
