Even as a teenager I took part in the first social projects gaining valuable experience in this way. I combined my studies at the High School of Economics in Tychy with the acquisition of practical knowledge. To this end, together with my classmates I set up the Circle of Young Investors, as part of which we organized meetings at school with well-known people in the region, from whom we thought we could learn a lot.
In addition, fascinated by the capital market, I set up a school Stock Exchange, where students from all over the school could create their virtual investment portfolios, choosing securities benchmarked with current stock prices at the time on the WSE. In this way, they learned how to invest in the capital market, diversify their portfolios and not lose their savings. We carried out the project together with the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
My first more serious organization was the Student Association "Initiative" based in the GCK in Katowice, which was involved in various projects mainly cultural. We organized the Cult Film Festival in Katowice, popular in Upper Silesia, as well as several minor projects. Activity and in this organization resulted in many valuable experiences.
I continued my adventure with several NGOs while I was already a student in Warsaw. First of all, it was the Polish Students' Union at the Supreme Council, as part of which I was involved in fundraising for all initiatives such as FAMA, Primus Inter Pares and others. Later, I joined the Students' Forum of the Business Centre Club, within which I was also responsible for raising funds for current activities, as well as, among others, for the project of Academic Business Incubators at 55 universities in Poland now.
Being at the center of entrepreneurship in Poland was my biggest dream, and for the next 5 years I got involved in the initiatives of both SF BCC and Business Centre Club. It was truly an amazing adventure and I am extremely happy that I met on my life path 3 inspiring founders of SF BCC and active activists for entrepreneurship in Poland: Darek Zuk, Mariusz Turski and Jacek Aleksandrowicz. Many thanks to you gentlemen for that!
At the moment, Academic Business Incubators have allowed more than 16,000 entrepreneurs to incubate! So, if you want to test your business idea/business model without registering it with the Authorities then I strongly encourage you to do so.
Why am I writing about all this? On the one hand, because I would like to summarize my past social activities during my young/student years to be able to open my new social activity in a slightly more mature form. But also because I wanted to encourage you to be socially active because it brings a lot of good, gives a lot of satisfaction and develops a lot of valuable skills.
Having been active in the technology business for more than a decade in the post-pandemic era of ubiquitous digitization, I saw a great need for digital education, both in terms of the potential that lies in digital technologies and the risks behind them.
Inspired also, among other things, by the words of Rafal Brzoska of the Cracow-based In-post that every entrepreneur should give at least 5% of his or her time back to society, I decided to establish the Digital Angels Foundation, which will deal with, among other things.
Equalizing digital opportunities in Polish society and spreading digital knowledge
Educating the Polish public on digital technologies, programming languages, artificial intelligence, blockchain, digital innovation, digital transformation and cyber security
Digitalization of companies and digital entrepreneurship, increasing the competitiveness of Polish companies
Supporting technology startups in their development and expansion.
And this fact I wanted to celebrate with this post. Keep your fingers crossed!
